JJ Cornwall Scaffolding is run by Jordan James from a yard in Penzance. Jordan has ten years in scaffolding, holds Advanced Supervisor, and came up through work on structures most Cornish scaffolders never see, from the Dawlish rail reconstruction to South Crofty and Hayle viaduct.
The company is deliberately small. Four of us, two gangs, so the person who prices your job is the person who turns up to build it. We sponsor local cricket, football and darts teams, because this is where we live.

01Re-roofs, extensions, rendering, painting, chimney work and general access on houses, cottages and bungalows across West Cornwall. Base protection agreed before we start, so your driveway and planting come out of it the way they went in.
02Shops, offices, managed premises and new build. Pedestrian gantries and protective fans where the public walks underneath, full RAMS and TG20 compliance documentation, and erection outside trading hours where that keeps you open.
03Independent or bracketed access to a stack, including on terraces and narrow streets where there is no room to build off the ground in the usual way.
04A fully covered working deck over the whole structure, so a re-roof or a restoration carries on through Cornish weather instead of stopping for it. On a winter job it usually saves more than it costs.
05Scaffold supplied, erected, maintained and struck by us, for an agreed hire period with the terms set out in writing. We work for homeowners, builders, roofers and main contractors across the county.
06Specialist subcontract access for conservation builders and restoration contractors working on listed and historic structures, with tie methods chosen to protect original fabric.

TG20 and SG4 compliant, £10m insuredEvery scaffold is built to TG20 and every gang works to SG4. We carry £10m public liability, which is double what most jobs ask for and the level main contractors expect.
Two gangs, one countyWe work West Cornwall from a yard in Penzance. Two gangs out of one yard means the person who quoted your job is the person who builds it, and you get a firm start date at quote stage rather than an open-ended wait.
Most people ringing a scaffolder are already halfway into something else. A roof that needs stripping. An extension that has reached first-lift height. What makes it stressful is rarely the steel. It is not knowing what you are getting, when it is going up, how long it can stay, or what the final number will be.
