Scaffolding in Marazion

On a Marazion front elevation the wind decides the design. In the streets behind it, the building fabric does. We settle both before we price the lifts, and the figure is in writing before anything is unloaded.

Scaffolding in Marazion You Can Trust

Marazion is three miles east of the yard, about ten minutes on the A394, and we are in and out of it all year.

The town has a weather problem the rest of the bay does not. Everything on the front looks straight out at St Michael's Mount across open water, so a south-easterly arrives with nothing to slow it down. Sheeting or netting an exposed elevation turns the structure into a sail, and the tie pattern has to answer for it. We will tell you plainly whether the wrap you want is worth the ties it demands.

Behind the front the constraint changes. Turnpike Road carries everything through, and The Square, Fore Street and West End are narrow, parked both sides and busy from Easter on. Much of it is old granite with lime pointing inside the conservation area, so where a tie goes, and what it goes into, is a decision rather than a default.

Why Marazion Customers Choose JJ Cornwall Scaffolding

Heritage scaffolding in Cornwall: listed granite chapel gable scaffold both elevations from the gate

A wrap is a decision, not a defaultWhether the structure is sheeted, netted or left open is settled at survey against the elevation it stands on, and we tell you what we are doing and why.

Commercial scaffolding in Cornwall: charity shop frontage wider street view

Nothing starts without a written priceThe scope is set out on paper before we begin, including anything the conservation setting adds. A change on site gets a price before it gets done.

Chimney scaffolding in Cornwall: brick chimney stack access over a tiled roof

£10m public liability, TG20 and SG4Every structure is designed to TG20 and every gang works to SG4. Our cover is the level main contractors and managing agents look for.

Common Scaffolding Jobs in Marazion

Marazion work falls into three types. A front-facing elevation where the design question is wind before it is height. A cottage behind, where the scaffold stands in a narrow road and the ties have to respect old granite and lime. And commercial work booked for the shoulder months so the summer trade is not lost.

Frequently asked questions

Do you cover Marazion?+
Yes, regularly. We cover Marazion plus Longrock, Perranuthnoe, Rosudgeon and Goldsithney. At three miles, ten minutes on the A394, it is a short run rather than a trip we plan a week around, and both gangs are through it all year. Tell us the address and we will confirm the access before anything is priced.
How much does scaffolding cost in Marazion?+
It is priced per job, and two things move the figure here that do not move it inland. Exposure, because a front-facing structure often needs more ties and sometimes a specific design, and the street, because a narrow frontage may need a pavement licence.
Do I need a licence to put scaffolding on the pavement in Marazion?+
Wherever the scaffold takes any part of the footway or carriageway, which on Turnpike Road and the streets off it is most of the time. Cornwall Council issues it, the application is ours to make, and it is granted before erection. Keeping a walkway open is the condition that bites here once the season starts. The charge sits inside your quote.
How quickly can you get to Marazion?+
About ten minutes on the A394, and you get a firm date at quote stage. We start at eight and work seven days, so a scaffold that has to be up before a trading week can usually be fitted around it.
Do you do temporary roofs and specialist scaffolding in Marazion?+
Yes, and this is the town where we recommend one most. A temporary roof is a sheeted roof carried on its own scaffold frame above the building, which on a Mount's Bay elevation keeps a strip moving through weather that would otherwise stop it. On listed buildings we work as scaffold subcontractor to the conservation builder or main contractor running the project.
